Sliding Scale
I deeply understand the burdens of financial accessibility to therapy. I believe therapy (like any other healthcare service) should be a right, not a privilege. I am happy to offer flexibility in rates through a sliding scale for those in financial need.
Please note these spots are limited. Victims of domestic violence/sexual assault, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ individuals are prioritized.
Reach out to me with any financial concerns and I will be happy to explore options with you!
Frequently Asked Questions
What will the first session be like?
In our first session, we will focus on getting to know each other. The first session can often feel intimidating or awkward, especially if it's your first time in therapy. Which is completely normal- we are strangers to one another in the beginning of this process! My focus of our time will be to get a general understanding of who you are and what you want to get out of therapy. You get to decide how much (or how little) you wish to share- there is never any pressure to go into anything you aren't ready for. I am always happy to share about myself as well, if that helps you to feel more comfortable. After gathering some background, we will review policies, explore session frequency, and establish goals.
How long does therapy take?
Everyone's therapy journey looks different, so there's no way to know for sure. Because I focus on trauma, childhood wounds, and relational healing, most of the time my clients are with me for the longer-term (a year or more). Like any relationship, it can take time to build the trust that is required for this kind of work. Trauma therapy is a marathon, not a sprint. I take things at the pace your system is ready for, which varies from person to person. Maybe you have been in therapy before and you feel ready to take your treatment to that next level, so we dive right in. Or, maybe you are doing this for the first time, and you need to build the safety and skills to go there. Either way- I am here to guide you through the process at the pace that is RIGHT for you.
What can I expect from you during sessions?
You can expect me to engage in our sessions in a way that balances human connection and clinicial guidance. I love to hear about things that make you, you: what music you listen to, the restaurants you go to, or seeing pictures of your pets (my personal fave). I will also continue to keep us on track with the goals you set in place. Leading with curiosity, I will make observations in a direct, but kind way. Those observations may be about things like the story you're telling, your body language, or possible patterns I'm noticing. This is an opportunity for you to check in and learn about what's happening in your system. But ultimately, YOU are the expert of your own experiences!
